I hesitate to share this destination with you because I fear that if someone reads this then everyone will come flooding into Red Cliffs and it will no longer be a secret destination. So if you feel like it’s absolutely necessary to share this destination with someone else, make sure you do it quietly. You know… kind of like if I tell you I have to kill you kinda thing. Haha, just kidding. We’re not going to take it that far. But seriously. Keep it on the DL.
There is a fee to get into Red Cliffs because it is a state park, but it’s super easy to get to… Like right off the freeway.
This is me right after trying to do a handstand. I’m pretty sure I fell over into the wet sand which is why my butt is orange.
The other nice thing about Red Cliffs is that if you hike to it during the right part of the day the sun sits neatly behind the hills so you can still enjoy your walk and not have to suffer through the smoldering Southern Utah heat.
You can also book camping, I would suggest doing it at least 5 months in advance since most of the camping in Southern Utah is scooped up as soon as it’s available. You can book your camping vacation here: Red Cliffs Recreation Area
In spite of the fact that I was hesitant to share this because of overcrowding, you should definitely visit this area, it’s the perfect afternoon activity!
