Once upon a time Yankee Meadows, located up Parowan Canyon was a lush green forest. Full of great camping spots and a lake of good fishing, Yankee Meadows is a hotspot for all the locals. Sadly, Yankee Meadows burnt like a match a little under a year ago.
(Pictured above: Zack, my husband’s best friend and apparently really great fisher. He didn’t actually catch anything though…)
I remember sitting on my boyfriends (now husbands) neighbor’s lawn watching the flames lick the sky.

The only bright-side to this bummer fire was that everyone that once attended Yankee Meadows is now pushed away. Yankee Meadows is still a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy a fire, smores, and a hot dog, all while fishing. Because of the fire, the ground is now covered in thick greenery.

We spent a good share of our night yesterday at Yankee Meadows I watched little Sloane and her cute curly blonde-haired cousin Brielle throw rocks into the lake. Evidently she slipped in a few times. (Hooray for wet shoes) But I got some stinkin cute pictures because of it!
If you want to hit up this beautiful spot, here are the directions: Yankee Meadows Directions
There’s a dirt road you can take but I don’t suggest doing that unless you’re on a four-wheeler or really dope truck.
Side note: Cheese and Sour Cream Ruffles are the best camping snack.
